WellSim® Rod Pump Controller (WellSim RPC) is designed for real-time control of sucker rod pump, processing and transmission of acquired data to remote computer or SCADA. WellSim allows to significantly reduce the cost of production due to: repair and maintenance costs reduction, increase in production up to 2-4%, energy savings up to 67%.
You can create a smart oilfield equipping your wells with WellSim controllers and connecting them to our SCADA system – NaftaSCADA. By means of complex mathematical model controller calculates current condition of the well and the pump, and represents that data in easy to read and interpret way to operator using graphical model. WellSim RPC is designed to work with load and position sensors, mounted on polished rod, however, controller is able to control the well status without them, in so-called sensorless mode with some reduction in accuracy of calculations.
WellSim RPC is also able to integrate with various well equipment such as downhole pressure and temperature gauges, echo sounders etc. using their data for calculation and/or transfer it to remote computer. Also WellSim RPC can be used as means of measuring of oil production rate, that eliminates the need to install separate flow meters and/or expensive downhole measuring equipment.
User-friendly software allows operator even with a minimum qualification to track by means of integrated display (HMI) or remote computer screen, well characteristics such as:
• Surface and downhole dynagraph cards
• Status of downhole equipment
• Pressure at the pump intake
• Pump fillage
• Oil production rate
• Loadings on pumping unit and on downhole equipment
WellSim RPC allows to control the well in manual and automatic modes. Automatic control is performed by complex algorithm based on mathematical model of the well in order to achieve maximum accuracy and stability of parameters calculation and maximum reliability of pumping unit.

WellSim RPC supports Modbus RTU, integrates with SCADA, while also being a full-fledged network device (supports TCP/IP protocol) accessible through a Web-based interface. Controllers are able to unite through a variety of means of telecommunication (FM, GPRS, Wi-Max, etc.) into a single network, that allows getting information about state of all oil production facilities, creating a smart oilfield.
